Eleven bindings collected by Philip Hofer; six are gilt morocco document/diploma bindings from various places and dates (one with the arms of Louis XIV, one with the arms of Napoleon); one is a gilt red morocco slip case with title "Carte des postes de l'empire français, 1812"; one is a gilt vellum papal binding from the 16th century; one is a 15th century Italian cuir ciselé book satchel with the image of an elephant on the front; one is a tortoise-shell case with silver arms on front board, "Rob. Fellowes Arm. Coll. Eman. Comens. DD 1763"; and one is a mid-19th century pictorial gilt red cloth binding for The marvellous adventures of Sir John Maundevile.
